The UN-Oceans Task Force on Global Partnership for Climate, Fisheries and Aquaculture (PaCFA - www.climatefish.org/index_en.htm) was established in 2010 to strengthen collaboration and coordination among UN organizations dealing with climate change issues in relation to oceans and coasts and to further support the process of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

The main ocean and coastal issues addressed by the Task Force are:

  • Climate change interactions with global waters and living resources
  • Impacts of climate change on ocean and coastal ecosystems, including socio-economic consequences
The Task Force is under the leadership of FAO with participation from UNEP, IOC, UNDP, CBD and the World Bank.
